The Pied Piper (De Koude Kermis)
See & spin The Pied Piper! Of course, The Fair Grounds wouldn’t be complete without an interactive entry gate!
Aside from functioning as a gate, it also simulates the classic barrel organs of the Amsterdam streets. By spinning the turning wheel on the side of the gate, a visitor generates the power needed to make the lights buzz, the music play and the fans spin. The internal speakers play a jolly mix of true barrel organ classics!

The Fair Grounds
The Pied Piper is part of The Fair Grounds. The Fair Grounds is an artistic project by the Dutch new media art collective DROPSTUFF MEDIA which consists of multiple independent installations where traditional amusement rides have been updated with new artistic or social narratives. The result is a truly new fairground, where every ride has been modified or enhanced and tells a surprising story in the public space: popular culture meets high tech and high art!
