The daily influence of social media is unmistakable, and the impact it has in the classroom grows strongly. In a special for this workshop developed game DROPSTUFF.nl let the students experience  in what way actions in the digital world have an effect in the real world. The goal of the game is simple: become as popular as possible by getting as many likes as possible.

In the gameplay – based on a newsfeed of a network-website such as Facebook – points are earned by posting, liking, sharing, uploading photo’s and hacking accounts. How far are you willing to go to earn points? In two rounds themes like cyber-bullying, privacy, treats, hacking and sexuality are discussed.

After each round the events in the game are reflected. At the end of the workshop the students determine what they find important on social media – Like it, or not!
