New media art in the public space
From 2008 onwards, DROPSTUFF MEDIA has been creating their ‘Museum without walls‘ – a digital platform for new media art in the public space. Using large outdoor public LED-screens, we explore new ways of digital and physical storytelling, artistic content and the use of new media technologies. To achieve this we work together with partners that we believe in: designers, artists, museums, schools, universities. We are confident that mutual learning occurs in the heart of collaboration
These project in the public space serve as a highly visible platform for young, upcoming new media designers, makers, writers and artists and reaches a broad and very diverse audience. Whether it is showcasing new animations, .GIFs, music videos or experimenting with VR, AR or mixed media in the public space, DROPSTUFF MEDIA encourages exploration and innovation.
DROPSTUFF MEDIA aims to present a diverse selection of the most current developments in new media art. By hosting a special artcasting-programme on public screens placed throughout The Netherlands, we provide a highly visible platform for both young and established talent. Content is collected through the use of open calls and workshops together with colleges, universities and festivals. Every year, we work together with the Dutch talent program of Kunstbende to challenge and reward young talent
