Welcome to our candy shop! What flavor do you like? Strawberry, grape, banana, apple or peach? Did you know that color, even more than taste, is the most essential part of candy? We serve national colors, political colors, corporate, military and body colors. Sugar causes the brain to release dopamine. Dopamine is a substance that gives you a feeling of happiness. Soon the need for even more sugar arises. The annual world consumption of sugar is almost 120 million tons and its production is linked to a history of both imperialist politics, commercial profits and exploitation, military conflict and racism.
SWEET! is an immersive installation where the content is influenced live by camera input and textual input based on the visitors that interact with the shop and it’s host. The content is animated and projection mapped on the white candy. Sound and smells complete the immersive journey.
